It's funny how people don't understand this kind of comedy. It really is genius. I guess it's like people who don't like the Simpsons. Go figure. The best part is when Charles Grodin is telling Dustin Hoffman that he was being bugged with the pen. Check out Dustin Hoffman's shifty eyes. Classic!

Actually, now that I think about it, the song they played at the AFI TRIBUTE is actually called PORTABLE PICNIC. But it will always be known as the "HOT FUDGE LOVE" song to Ishtar geeks like me....

Did anyone watch the AFI TRIBUTE TO WARREN BEATTY a few weeks ago on the Bravo channel I believe? I couldn't believe it. During the end credits, they actually played the completed version of Warren singing HOT FUDGE LOVE. Brilliant! I wonder how many people watching even knew what it was?

(British accent), "Are you the auctioneer?" (feigned native Arabic speaker responding in English) ,"Yace!" My favorite movie. I'm a musician. The only other person I know who likes it is a musician. Is it just a musician thing? Shouldn't be. Great movie like 'Big Lebowski', 'Sling Blade', 'Lonesome Dove',...etc. I'm shopping for a DVD.

By far my favorite movie. I make people watch it all the time, they always groan at first, but I have not found anyone who can sit through it and not find something to laugh about. And whatever you think of the subject matter, the acting is brilliant. "You'd rather have nothing than settle for less."

I can't believe there are people outside of my imediate family that love Ishtar as much as I do!!! I love your site and one of my favorite quotes is when chuck is telling lyle that his nickname is "the hawk", "hawk" for short. It's been a little while since I've seen it --I have been trying to get a copy of it on dvd that will work with my u.s. dvd player. Hard to find. Anyway, just wanted to say hi, and I'm glad to have found you Ishtar lovers!!
